The San Diego Unified Port District is seeking qualified firms to provide as-needed hazardous waste management and emergency response services for its tidelands and submerged lands operations. - Government Buyer: - San Diego Unified Port District, Procurement Services Office - Scope of Services: - Hazardous waste management, including sampling, characterizing, packaging, profiling, manifesting, labeling, loading, transporting, and disposing of hazardous waste - Emergency response services available 24/7 for hazardous materials incidents - Small-scale site remediation for environmental projects - Program management and regulatory compliance support - Waste Streams Covered: - Contaminated soils, water, debris, sludge, asbestos, bio-hazardous waste, and more - Key Labor Classifications (all require 40-hour Hazwoper certification): - Project Manager (10+ years experience) - Foreman/Supervisor (5+ years experience) - Health and Safety Manager (5+ years experience) - Equipment Operator - Technician - Notable Requirements: - Compliance with all federal, state, and local hazardous waste regulations - Maintenance of required permits and certifications - No escalation in rates permitted during the 5-year contract term - Multiple firms may be selected, with an aggregate contract value not to exceed $5,000,000 - No specific OEMs or product manufacturers are named; the opportunity is open to qualified service providers

Description

This solicitation is for as-needed hazardous waste management and emergency response services for the San Diego Unified Port District. The scope includes sampling, characterizing, packaging, profiling, transporting hazardous waste to approved facilities, small scale site remediation, emergency response, program management, and regulatory compliance support. Services will be available upon request seven days per week and involve handling hazardous waste generated from various District operations. The contract value is estimated at $5,000,000 with a term of 5 years starting tentatively February 1, 2027.
