Description

The Government of Canada is seeking a contractor to coordinate the collection of data and samples from hunted beluga and biopsies of living beluga in Nunavik. The objective is to gather scientific information for Nunavik beluga stock assessment and provide advice on demographic trends to support conservation management. The contractor will prepare and distribute sampling kits, promote the sampling program in communities, inventory and store samples, and send relevant samples and data to the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada. The contract duration is estimated at 8 months starting from July 27, 2026.
