The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is seeking qualified contractors to replace electric steam humidifiers at the Minneapolis Air Route Traffic Control Center (ARTCC) in Farmington, Minnesota. - Government Buyer: - Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Great Lakes Region, ZMP Minneapolis ARTCC, AAQ-500 Regional Acquisitions - OEMs and Vendors: - DRI-STEEM - Herrmidifier - Hygromatik - Scaltrol (hot water inline filter) - Products Requested: - Dri-Steem VLC 50-2 electric steam humidifier with Ultrabsorbs (1 unit) - Dri-Steem VM-34 electric steam humidifier (1 unit) - Dri-Steem VM-6 wall-mounted electric steam humidifier (1 unit) - Scaltrol hot water inline filter (1 unit) - Copper drain, water, steam, and condensate piping (multiple units) - Heavy duty fused disconnect switches (2 units) - Control wiring reconnection, insulation, and surface protection - Services Requested: - Engineering services for AHU humidifier replacement - Comprehensive project management, coordination, submittal procedures, selective demolition, HVAC work, instrumentation and control, hydronic and steam piping, vibration and seismic control, electrical work, and testing, adjusting, and balancing - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Contractor must have experience with electric resistive humidifiers - Mandatory site visit prior to bidding - Compliance with local codes and FAA specifications - Performance bonds and insurance required - Completion required within 90 calendar days after notice to proceed - Submission of past performance surveys and key personnel resumes - Compliance with REAL-ID Act for identification

Description

The Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration En Route Construction Branch has a need to replace humidifiers at Minneapolis Air Route Traffic Control Center located in Farmington, Minnesota.

The estimated construction magnitude for this requirement is between $250,000 and $500,000. Please see the attached Request for Offerors (RFO) package for details.

A one-time site visit is scheduled for Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at 9:00 AM Local Time. Site visit attendees will meet with Mr. Alexander Meyer at the Minneapolis ARTCC Guard Station located at 512 Division St, Farmington, MN. 55024. Please have REAL-ID Act compliant identification ready for inspection upon arrival.

Site visit attendees shall pre-announce their intent to inspect the site no later than noon Pacific Time on Monday, July 20, 2026. Prospective offerors shall email the names of all site visit attendees to both mark.salum@faa.gov AND alexander.l.meyer@faa.gov.

Requests for Information (RFIs) arising from the site visit shall be emailed to mark.salum@faa.gov no later than noon Pacific Time on Friday, July 24, 2026. RFI responses will be provided in writing via solicitation amendment only. No RFIs will be answered during the site visit. 

Offers are due no later than noon Pacific Time on Friday, July 31, 2026 unless otherwise amended. All offers shall be emailed to mark.salum@faa.gov
