Description
The U.S. Embassy Bern is seeking a qualified part-time cook to prepare three freshly cooked meals daily (breakfast, lunch, dinner) for the Marine Security Guards (MSG) at the MSG Residence in Bern. Meals may be prepared on-site at the MSG Residence kitchen. No full-day presence is required; the cook is expected to work part-time hours sufficient to prepare and serve all three meals.
SCOPE OF WORK:
Preparation and serving of three meals per day (breakfast, lunch, dinner) for seven Marines Service required seven days a week, including weekends and holidays The cook will work part-time hours on-site at the MSG Residence kitchen; exact daily schedule to be agreed upon with the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) Weekend meals (Saturday and Sunday) may be prepared and pre-portioned on Friday in advance, in accordance with applicable Swiss food safety and hygiene regulations; proper storage and labeling of pre-prepared meals is required Provider/individual must submit a rotating menu plan for approval by the COR Meals must be freshly prepared on-site using ingredients procured in accordance with Embassy guidelines Provider/individual is responsible for compliance with all Swiss hygiene and food safety regulations, including proper handling, storage, and reheating of pre-prepared meals Place of performance: Marine Security Guard Residence, Bern (exact address to be provided upon award
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates/providers must hold a valid Swiss food handling/cook certification and comply with all applicable local regulations Demonstrated experience in cooking and meal preparation, preferably for groups, is required Candidates/providers must be able to commence service no later than August 1, 2026
