Description
The Denver Art Museum has completed an inventory of associated funerary objects in accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). The inventory determined a cultural affiliation between the associated funerary objects and several Indian Tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations. The objects include five pottery sherds removed from the Garoga Site in Jefferson County, NY, and are affiliated with multiple tribes including the Cayuga Nation and Oneida Indian Nation. Repatriation of these objects may occur on or after August 7, 2026, and requests for repatriation must be sent to the Denver Art Museum.
