The San Bernardino County Museum intends to repatriate 39 cultural items that are objects of cultural patrimony with cultural affiliation to Indian Tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations, specifically connected to the Tejon Indian Tribe. These items include lithics, ceramics, groundstone, faunal bone, ecofacts, charcoal, and other artifacts collected from various sites in Kern County, California. Repatriation may occur on or after August 7, 2026. Requests for repatriation must be submitted in writing to the museum's authorized representative.
