Description

Antelope Valley College (AVC) has completed an inventory of human remains in accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). The inventory determined a cultural affiliation between the human remains and certain Indian Tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations. The remains represent at least one individual and were recovered from the Burnt Peak Pictograph site in North Los Angeles County. Repatriation of the remains may occur on or after August 7, 2026, and requests for repatriation must be sent to AVC's Department of Anthropology.
