The Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration, invites comments on applications for duty-free entry of scientific instruments by UChicago Argonne LLC and other applicants. The instruments are intended for various scientific research purposes including battery material precursors, spectroscopy, microscopy, and microgrid power simulation. The applicants justify duty-free entry by stating that no instruments of the same general category are manufactured in the United States. Comments must be postmarked on or before July 28, 2026.
