The City of Georgetown is seeking bids for the D B Wood Road Phase IIA reconstruction project, a major infrastructure upgrade to expand a two-lane road into a four-lane divided roadway with modern features. - Government Buyer: - City of Georgetown, Purchasing Department, Contract Coordinator - Project Scope: - Reconstruction and widening of D B Wood Road from Oak Ridge Road to north of Cedar Breaks Road - Upgrade to four-lane divided roadway with sidewalks, storm sewer, roadway illumination, traffic signing, pavement markings, and culvert replacement - Includes installation of concrete curbs and gutters (Type II), high early strength concrete driveways, concrete sidewalks, colored/textured concrete medians, and gravel driveways - Stormwater management with reinforced concrete pipes, box culverts, inlets, manholes, and headwalls - Traffic control and safety: barricades, signs, portable changeable message signs, truck mounted attenuators (TMAs), and temporary special shoring - Roadway materials: hot mix asphaltic concrete (Type B and C), flexible base, prime coat, and moisture conditioned subgrade - Roadway illumination: streetlight poles, mast arms, and electrical infrastructure - Erosion control: topsoil, hydro mulch, soil retention blankets, rock filter dams, and biodegradable logs - Removal and adjustment of existing structures, utilities, and fencing - Products/Services Requested: - Over 60 distinct line items including: - 8,280+ linear feet of concrete curb and gutter (Type II) - 2,820+ linear feet of portable concrete traffic barrier (Type 1, removal) - 24,586 tons of hot mix asphaltic concrete (Type C, 2") - 21,712 square yards of flexible base (11") - 3,664 square yards of concrete sidewalks (4") - 295 square yards of high early strength concrete driveways - 7 streetlight poles (double mast arm), 8 streetlight poles (single mast arm) - 19702 square yards of topsoil and hydro mulch - Multiple stormwater and utility structures (culverts, pipes, manholes, inlets) - Traffic control devices and pavement markings - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Compliance with City of Georgetown standards and prevailing wage rates - Detailed technical specifications for pavement sections, shoring, and traffic control - Sealed, site-specific traffic control plans required - Bid security, performance and payment bonds, and insurance mandatory - One-year warranty after final completion - OEMs and Vendors: - No specific OEMs or proprietary brands are named; the project is open to all qualified contractors and suppliers able to meet the technical specifications - Estimated Contract Value: - Approximately $7.5 million (as stated in bid documents)

Description

The City of Georgetown is accepting sealed bids for the construction project D B Wood Road Phase IIA. The project involves furnishing, installing, and providing all labor and materials for the reconstruction of D B Wood Road from Oak Ridge Road to just North of Cedar Breaks Road. Construction includes upgrading the existing two-lane undivided road to a four-lane divided roadway, sidewalk, storm sewer, illumination, signing, pavement markings, culvert replacement, and miscellaneous items as described in the drawings. Bids may be electronically submitted through the City E-bid system on or before July 8, 2026, at 2:00 PM, and will be publicly opened and read aloud immediately thereafter.
