Description
The Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau (PSHSB) and the Office of Engineering and Technology (OET) prohibit the continued importation and marketing of certain previously authorized communications equipment that poses an unacceptable risk to U.S. national security or the safety of U.S. persons. This prohibition applies to equipment added to the Covered List in 2024 or earlier and takes effect on July 16, 2026. The prohibition does not affect the continued use of already authorized equipment and excludes equipment added after 2024. Certain use-based exceptions apply, such as for physical security surveillance of critical infrastructure until further definition is provided by the Commission.
