This opportunity from the USDA Forest Service, Chattooga River Ranger District, seeks construction services for the Multiple Trail Bridges Replacement Project Phase 2 in the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest, Georgia. - Government Buyer: - USDA Forest Service, Chattooga River Ranger District, Region 8 Southern Region - Scope of Work: - Construction of seven new trail bridges (four with reinforced concrete abutments, three with gabion abutments) - Reconstruction of one trail embankment fill slope failure - Construction of a new boardwalk platform with ramp at Lake Russell - Removal and legal disposal of existing wooden and steel trail bridges - Site-specific work including mobilization, surveying, silt fence installation, earthwork, geosynthetics, structure excavation, keyed and grouted riprap, gabion baskets, aggregate base, structural timber and lumber, seeding, mulching, and environmental restoration - Products and Materials Requested: - Glulam stringer trail bridges and structural timber/lumber (various sizes and configurations) - Reinforced concrete abutments and foundations - Gabion baskets (PVC-coated welded wire mesh, various sizes) - HDPE dual wall pipes (AASHTO/ASTM rated) - Trail guardrails (galvanized steel and treated lumber options) - Geotextiles, riprap, aggregate base, underdrain systems, seeding, and mulching materials - Quantities and Part Numbers: - Detailed line items include: 115 units of glulam timber for trail bridges, 8043 units of reinforcing steel, 57 units of structural concrete, 804 units of seeding, 720 units of silt fence, and more (see product line items for full breakdown) - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Compliance with FP-14 and Forest Service Supplemental Specifications (FSSS) - Adherence to AASHTO LRFD bridge design standards - Davis Bacon Wage Determination applies - Offerors must demonstrate experience with similar projects in the past eight years - Environmental restoration and DEI compliance required - No specific OEMs or proprietary brands are named; glulam timber and bridge components must meet federal and industry standards.

Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Part 12.  This announcement constitutes the only solicitation.  Quotations are being requested and a separate written solicitation will not be issued. 

Solicitation number 12445226Q0033 is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for constructing (7)- new trail bridges, reconstruction of (1)- trail embankment fill slope failure repair, and new construction of (1) - Boardwalk platform with ramp that shall tie into the new Lake Russell M.P. 2.18 trail bridge in the Chattooga River Ranger District of the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest.

This acquisition  is set-aside for small business concerns.  The applicable North American Industry Classification Standard Code is 237310 – Highway, Street, and Bridge Construction  The small business size standard is $45,000,000.00.  This acquisition is a Total Small Business Set-Aside.  All responsible sources may submit a quotation which will be considered by the agency.
