NASA Marshall Space Flight Center is seeking to procure specialized additive manufacturing powder for advanced engineering applications. - Government Buyer: - NASA, Marshall Space Flight Center - OEM/Vendor: - Homogeneous Metals, Inc. (sole source, manufacturer of JBK-75-AM1 powder) - Products Requested: - 2,635 pounds of JBK-75-AM1 alloy atomized powder (-140/+325 mesh) - Part number: JBK-75-AM1 - Must meet AMS 5811 chemical composition and ASTM particle size distribution standards - Spherical powder, free of satellite particles - Packaged in air-tight, inert gas-filled containers (max 20 kg each) - Each lot must be delivered with Certificates of Conformance (including lot number and production details) - Blending of heat lots allowed only with independent certification - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Powder must be produced by vacuum or inert induction melting - Strict adherence to industry standards (AMS 5811, ASTM) - Delivery required within 6 months of contract award - No other OEMs or vendors identified as capable suppliers

Synopsis:
NASA/NSSC has a requirement for JBK-75 ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING POWDER.
NASA/NSSC intends to issue a sole source contract to HOMOGENEOUS METALS, INC: 2395 MAIN ST | CLAYVILLE, NEW YORK 13322 under the authority of FAR 12.102(a). It has been determined that HOMOGENOUS METALS, INC is the sole provider of JBK-75 ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING POWDER.
NASA/NSSC will be the procuring center for this effort. Performance will be located at NASA/ Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC).
The Government intends to acquire Commercial items or services using the provisions, clauses and procedures prescribed in FAR Part 12 for Commercial
The NAICS Code for this procurement is 325998.
Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 2:00 p.m. Central Standard Time on 7/9/2026. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
