This opportunity seeks ISO 17025 accredited laboratories to perform First Article Inspection Testing on eight distinct rubber formulations for the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (Department of the Navy, NAVSEA). - Government Buyer: - Department of the Navy, Portsmouth Naval Shipyard - Products/Services Requested: - First Article Inspection Testing for 8 specific rubber formulations: - P-1, P-3, 10-D-35, 80-C-36, 10-D-36, P-31, 15-D-15, 15-D-12 - Each formulation requires 1 round of testing - Testing must comply with various military and ASTM standards (e.g., MIL-PRF-15624H, MIL-PRF-19769C, MIL-PRF-32287A, ZZ-R-768C) - Tests include: tensile strength, elongation, hardness, specific gravity, compression set, oven/light/low temperature aging, immersion (water, oil, hydraulic fluids), tear resistance, temperature retraction, corrosion adhesion, dynamic cycling, and more - Detailed laboratory reports required for each formulation - Unique/Notable Requirements: - All testing must be performed at an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory - Contract includes options for additional testing if formulas fail initial tests - No specific OEMs or commercial vendors are named in the solicitation - Opportunity is for market research (sources sought), not a direct purchase at this stage
