Description
The CONSTELLATION® Vision System is manufactured and serviced exclusively by Alcon Vision, LLC. Its proprietary technologies including ULTRAVIT®/HYPERVIT® drive technology, integrated PUREPOINT® laser, IOP Compensation, and ENGAUGE® RFID are only available through Alcon and cannot be replicated by other suppliers. Alcon restricts critical parts and service to their own certified engineers for safety, which is necessary due to the complexity and uniqueness of the system.
Attempting to use another company for parts or service would void warranties, risk patient safety, and could lead to equipment failure. Replacing the entire system with another manufacturer would result in substantial costs for new equipment, training, and facility changes. Most importantly, any delay or disruption in service would negatively affect Veteran patient care by interrupting essential eye surgery services.
For these reasons, only Alcon can meet this requirement without incurring significant cost and risk to Veteran care.
