The Department of the Navy, Norfolk Naval Shipyard, is seeking a contractor to provide and install custom heat shielding for an ITS Car Bottom Furnace. - Government Buyer: - Department of the Navy, Norfolk Naval Shipyard - Products/Services Requested: - Manufacture, delivery, and installation of insulated stainless steel heat shielding for: - Door Mast (protecting door lift cylinder, safety lock-out cylinders, bearings, and grease lines) - Lift Seal Cylinder (protecting cylinders that raise the cart seal) - Cart Drive (protecting the cart drive mechanism) - Cart Power Reel (protecting the retractable power cord reel) - Installation services including: - Mechanical re-assembly of equipment/components removed for shipping - Field painting and touch-up with standard colors - Electrical field wiring (conduit and wire) - OEMs and Vendors: - No specific OEMs or vendors are named in the solicitation - Unique/Notable Requirements: - All heat shielding must be insulated stainless steel, custom-fit for the furnace components - Contractor must provide all labor, materials, tooling, and supervision - Compliance with OSHA and Norfolk Naval Shipyard safety requirements is mandatory - Work includes both mechanical and electrical tasks, as well as painting - Quantities and part numbers are not specified; all items are custom-fabricated for the application

Presolicitation Notice / Synopsis

 Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY) intends to award a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract for a contractor to provide all labor, materials, tooling and supervision to manufacture, deliver and install Heat Shielding on a Car Bottom Furnace to protect parts from excessive heat when opening the doors of the furnace when it is at temperature.

The requirement will be solicited as Full and Open competition . The North American Industry Classification Standard (NAICS) code applicable to this procurement is 333994. The small business size standard is $750. The Product Service Code is J036.

The solicitation, any documents related to this procurement, and all amendments issued will be in electronic form. Once available, the solicitation will be posted on SAM.gov, https://sam.gov. The solicitation is expected to be available under ID # N4215826QS018.
