Description
The U.S. Department of Commerce is initiating a country-wide circumvention inquiry to determine whether certain corrosion-resistant steel products from China, completed in Thailand using Chinese components, are circumventing antidumping and countervailing duty orders. This inquiry follows requests from Nucor Corporation and Steel Dynamics, Inc. The inquiry will assess if the assembly or completion in Thailand is minor or insignificant and if the value of Chinese-origin components is significant. Commerce will issue questionnaires to producers and exporters in Thailand and intends to issue preliminary and final determinations within specified timeframes.
