Heat Shielding Manufacture and Installation for Car Bottom Furnace at Norfolk Naval Shipyard

• Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY) is seeking a contractor to manufacture, deliver, and install insulated stainless steel heat shielding for the ITS Car Bottom Furnace.
• The heat shielding will protect critical components including the door mast, lift seal cylinder, cart drive, and cart power reel from excessive heat exposure.
  • Specific heat shield items required: Door Mast Heat Shield, Lift Seal Cylinder Heat Shield, Cart Drive Heat Shield, Cart Power Reel Heat Shield.
• Installation services include mechanical re-assembly, field painting, touch-up painting, and electrical wiring (conduit and wire) for components removed during shipping.
• All labor, materials, tooling, and supervision must be provided by the contractor.
• Safety compliance with OSHA and Norfolk Naval Shipyard requirements is mandatory.

Presolicitation Notice / Synopsis

 Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY) intends to award a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract for a contractor to provide all labor, materials, tooling and supervision to manufacture, deliver and install Heat Shielding on a Car Bottom Furnace to protect parts from excessive heat when opening the doors of the furnace when it is at temperature.

The requirement will be solicited as Full and Open competition . The North American Industry Classification Standard (NAICS) code applicable to this procurement is 333994. The small business size standard is $750. The Product Service Code is J036.

The solicitation, any documents related to this procurement, and all amendments issued will be in electronic form. Once available, the solicitation will be posted on SAM.gov, https://sam.gov. The solicitation is expected to be available under ID # N4215826QS018.
