Windham Transfer Station Replacement Project – General and Electrical Construction

Greene County Highway & Solid Waste Department is seeking bids for the Windham Transfer Station Replacement Project in Windham, NY. - Two main contracts: General Construction (Contract 1A) and Electrical Construction (Contract 1B) - General Construction includes: - Demolition and removal of existing structures, retaining walls, foundations, and utilities - Construction of an approximately 8,500 sq. ft. pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) with concrete foundations, ventilation fan, and louvers - Installation of an 8’ x 30’ pre-fabricated, climate-controlled container office with bathroom, plumbing, and well pump connections - Salvage and reinstallation of an existing trash compactor unit, including a steel fabricated garbage chute - Relocation and installation of a 70’ truck scale with new concrete foundations - Site improvements: fill placement, excavation, retaining walls, pavements, stormwater management, fencing, and gates - Modifications to sewer and water utilities - Construction of a temporary elevated drop-off area for continued owner operation during construction - Electrical Construction includes: - Electrical and communications service and distribution - Site and building lighting (interior and exterior) - Electrical connections to equipment - Notable requirements: - 5% bid security - Valid NYSDOL Certificate of Registration - Compliance with labor law and minimum wage rates - No specific OEMs or proprietary products are named; project is open to qualified contractors able to meet the technical and regulatory requirements

Sealed bids are requested for the Greene County Highway & Solid Waste Department Windham Transfer Station Replacement project. The project includes demolition and removal of existing structures, construction of an approximately 8,500 sq. ft. pre-engineered metal building with concrete foundations, installation of a pre-fabricated climate-controlled container office, salvage and reinstallation of existing equipment, site improvements including retaining walls, pavements, stormwater management, fencing, gates, and utility modifications. Electrical construction includes electrical and communications service and distribution, site and building lighting, and electrical connections to equipment. Bids must be submitted by July 30, 2026, and a pre-bid meeting is scheduled for July 15, 2026, at the project site.
