Description
Town of Cairo Water System Improvements Town of Cairo, Cairo, West Virginia The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pittsburgh District, is carrying out a project to upgrade the existing water distribution systems within the Town of Cairo, WV. The project site has been divided into three general areas including the Water Distribution System Improvements, Water Meter Setting Replacements, and Water Storage Tank Rehabilitation. The base contract work generally consists of the following: ? Water Distribution System Improvements o Work includes approximately 5,600 LF of 6-inch water line, approximately 450 LF of 4-inch water line, approximately 1,750 LF of 2-inch water line, approximately 22 gate valves, approximately 18 water line tie ins, approximately 11 fire hydrant installations, approximately 13 fire hydrant demolitions, and approximately 8,250 LF of road restoration in and out of DOH rights-of-way including HMA, gravel, and concrete. ? Water Meter Setting Replacements o Work includes approximately 6,800 LF of polyethylene service tubing varying in size from 3/4-inch to 2-inch, approximately 195-meter settings, approximately 188 existing customer reconnections, and remove and repair approximately 119 existing service saddles. ? Water Storage Tank Rehabilitation o Work includes draining the existing water storage tank, inspecting the existing water storage tank, removing dirt and debris from the existing water storage tank, repairing the existing water storage tank, disinfecting the existing water storage tank, and filling the existing water storage tank. ? Execute various measures to facilitate work including traffic control, erosion and sedimentation control, and others. The contractor will be required to furnish all materials proposed for installation, and will be responsible for properly disposing, or recycling, as appropriate, respective items removed. Removed items deemed for disposal or recycling are to be taken to commercially permitted facilities licensed to accept the same, as applicable. The contractor will be required to adhere to USACE Construction Quality Management concepts and procedures. The work shall be completed within 365 calendar days after written Notice to Proceed. Estimated Contract Magnitude: Between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000The acquisition will be procured as unrestricted, full and open competition. The resulting award will be for one (1) Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) Contract. All responsible Bidders are encouraged to participate.
