San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) is seeking proposals for a multi-year contract to provide rental and cleaning services for uniforms and shop materials for its transit divisions. - Government Buyer: - San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) Purchasing Office - Covers both San Diego Trolley Incorporated (SDTI) and San Diego Transit Corporation (SDTC) - Products and Quantities: - Uniforms for maintenance and supervisory staff: - Industrial work shirts (long/short sleeve, 65/35 poly/cotton and 100% cotton): over 130,000 units annually - Work pants (65/35 poly/cotton and 100% cotton): over 130,000 units annually - Polo shirts (Cornerstone CS410 or equivalent): over 22,000 units annually - Executive pants: over 22,000 units annually - Flash pocket and panel jackets: over 28,000 units annually - Coveralls (65/35 poly/cotton): over 2,700 units annually - Shop coats and women’s pants also included - Shop materials: - Floor mats (various sizes and types): over 6,000 units annually - Shop towels (cleaned and replaced, 18x18): over 250,000 units annually - Dust mops: over 100 units annually - Set-up charges for new employees, replacements, or size changes (including name tags, logos, and striping) - Services Requested: - Rental, regular cleaning, and maintenance of all listed uniforms and shop materials - Inventory tracking using barcode/RFID - Weekly pickup and delivery - Replacement of lost or damaged items - Environmental sustainability practices required - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Compliance with ANSI/ISEA 107 class II for reflective striping on uniforms - Arc flash protection (NFPA 70E PPE Category 2) options for certain garments - Specific embroidery and patch placement for uniforms - Departmental color and safety feature requirements - Unit pricing required for all items and services - No specific OEMs are named; opportunity is open to all qualified uniform and textile service providers.
