Description
The Rural Housing Service (RHS), a Rural Development agency of the USDA, proposes to amend the regulation for the Direct Multifamily Housing Loan and Grant Programs to include acquisition as an applicable form of assistance for direct MFH subsequent loans. This change would allow owners of MFH initially financed by the Agency to apply for funds to help finance acquisition in preservation transactions. The amendment aims to reduce administrative and regulatory burdens for industry partners and the Agency, facilitating preservation and transfer of multifamily housing properties.
