Description
Sonoma State University intends to repatriate certain cultural items defined as sacred objects or objects of cultural patrimony that have a cultural affiliation with Indian Tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations. The items were removed from archaeological sites in El Dorado County, CA, and have been curated at Sonoma State University. The repatriation process is conducted under the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). Repatriation may occur on or after August 3, 2026.
