Description
In accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA), the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, has completed an inventory of human remains and associated funerary objects. The Mobile District has determined a cultural affiliation between these remains and Indian Tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations. The University of Alabama holds physical custody of the collections while the Mobile District retains legal control. Repatriation of the human remains and associated funerary objects may occur on or after August 3, 2026.
