Description
The St. Joseph Museums, Inc. has completed an inventory of human remains and associated funerary objects in accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). The inventory includes remains of at least two individuals and 9,586 associated funerary objects such as chert flakes, pottery sherds, and metal artifacts. These items are culturally affiliated with the Iowa Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska. Repatriation of these remains and objects may occur on or after August 3, 2026, and requests for repatriation must be sent to the authorized representative at the St. Joseph Museums, Inc.
