Description
The U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service, Joshua Tree National Park has completed an inventory of human remains and associated funerary objects in accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). The inventory identified one individual and 173 associated funerary objects including pottery sherds, manos, quartz crystal, and basketry fragments. A cultural affiliation has been determined between these remains and objects and specific Indian Tribes. Repatriation of these items may occur on or after August 3, 2026.
