Description
The Coast Guard is establishing a temporary safety zone in Western Lake Erie within a 375-yard radius of 1230 W Lakeshore Drive on Kelleys Island, OH. This safety zone is to protect personnel, vessels, and the marine environment during a fireworks event. Entry into the zone is prohibited from 9 p.m. through 11 p.m. on July 4, 2026, unless authorized by the Captain of the Port Detroit. The rule is issued under the authority of 46 U.S.C. 70034 to address potential hazards associated with the fireworks display.
