Description
Sources Sought American Lake B81 Lab Roof THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL OR QUOTE; THE VA IS NOT SEEKING PRICING OR OFFERS.
The Department of Veterans Affairs, NCO 20, in support of VA Puget Sound - American Lake Campus, Tacoma, WA is currently requesting information to determine the existence of viable sources capable of providing construction services.
Period of Performance: The intended contract period of performance is approximately 120 calendar days after receipt of notice to proceed.
Description of Services: The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to provide and install a complete TPO roofing system. The roofing system shall be a fully integrated, weather resistant assembly that includes all required roofing membranes, underlayment, insulation, flashing, sealants, and finish roofing materials. The system shall be installed in accordance with applicable manufacturer specifications, industry standards, and governing codes. When completed, the roofing system shall provide continuous, complete, and effective protection of the enclosed space below from all external environmental elements, including precipitation, wind, temperature intrusion, and moisture. The air conditioning down-time shall be limited to a weekend to have negligible effect on laboratory operations.
The small flat roof above the laboratory storage rooms in Building 81 has experienced persistent leaks for several years. Although multiple repairs have been attempted, including large applications of tar, the roof continues to fail. The existing torch down roof will be replaced with a TPO roofing system to provide a long term solution. The area includes seven AC units that cool the laboratory below and must remain functional nearly year round.

The Government is not soliciting offers at this time, and it will be the Contracting Officer who will determine which suggested changes are accepted. This is a sources sought notice to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources. A solicitation is not currently available.

This announcement is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, implied or otherwise, to issue a solicitation or to award a contract. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this synopsis or any follow-up information requests.
