THIS REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) IS ISSUED SOLELY FOR INFORMATION AND PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY AND DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A SOLICITATION. THE SUBMISSION OF PRICING, CAPABILITIES FOR PLANNING PURPOSES, AND OTHER MARKET INFORMATION IS HIGHLY ENCOURAGED AND ALLOWED UNDER THIS RFI IN ACCORDANCE WITH (IAW) FAR 15.201(e).

Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this RFI. SOURCES SOUGHT DESCRIPTION This is NOT a solicitation announcement. This is a sources sought/RFI only. The purpose of this sources sought/RFI is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification relative to NAICS 334516 (size standard of 1200 Employees). Responses to this sources sought will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. After review of the responses to this sources sought, a solicitation announcement may be published. Responses to this sources sought synopsis are not considered adequate responses for a solicitation announcement.
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), VISN 22 Network Contracting Office, is seeking sources that can provide a Formalin Laboratory Recycler that at a minimum meets the following salient characteristics with a brand name or equal product for the New Mexico (Albuquerque) VA Healthcare System:
The boiler and receiver size must hold a minimum of 10 gallons. The unit must have internal shelving for the receiver. The unit must require only one standard electrical power outlet. The unit must include a mobile and accessible boiler. The unit must use an air cooled condenser without glass parts. The unit must be fully accessible for on-site service. The unit must be enclosed in a cabinet The unit must be capable of taking power from standard electrical outlets. The unit must have user touch screen control for operation. The unit must have a built-in post filter. The unit must include vapor sensor to monitor air and alarm with automatic shutdown in case of excess vapor detection. The unit must have an overtemperature shutdown device. The unit must consistently recycle back to 10-12% purity. The unit must be room temperature and ready to re-buffer for use. The unit must recycle indefinitely without degradation of the formalin overtime.
