The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Office of Acquisition Services, on behalf of the National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases (NCEZID), is seeking a contractor for large-scale wastewater surveillance services to monitor infectious disease pathogens. - Government Buyer: - Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) - National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases (NCEZID) - Office of Acquisition Services - Scope of Services: - Establish service relationships with up to 500 wastewater treatment facilities - Provide sampling and shipping supplies, and manage shipping logistics - Collect utility metadata from participating facilities - Perform quantitative digital or droplet PCR testing for up to 25 infectious disease pathogens - Data submission required within 36 hours of sample receipt - Share test protocols and validation data with CDC - Sequence samples and provide metagenomic sequencing capacity (one billion reads from 100 samples per week) - All testing must be performed by a single laboratory located in the continental US - No specific OEMs, vendors, or part numbers are named in the solicitation - Notable Requirements: - Rapid turnaround for PCR data (36 hours) - High-throughput metagenomic sequencing capability - Centralized laboratory operations for consistency and quality control
