Durham Public Schools (DPS) is seeking bids for a turnkey project to provide and install electric vehicle (EV) charging stations and all required electrical infrastructure at multiple school sites in Durham, North Carolina. - Government Buyer: - Durham Public Schools (DPS), including offices for Purchasing, Building Services, and Construction & Capital Planning - OEMs and Vendors: - ChargePoint (design basis and approved equipment vendor) - Phihong (approved equipment vendor) - Power Electronics (approved equipment vendor) - Products/Services Requested: - DC Fast Chargers for maintenance vehicles and buses - Example: 2-4 units per site at Hillside, Southern, Riverside, Jordan High Schools, and Hamlin Road - Level 2 Dual Station Chargers for staff parking, food service, and maintenance vehicles - Example: 1-4 units per site at multiple locations - Turnkey installation services, including all labor, materials, wiring, conduit, site preparation, and commissioning - New electrical services and infrastructure as needed - Unique or Notable Requirements: - Bidders must be licensed NC Electrical Contractors or General Contractors with unlimited licenses - Single prime contract; turnkey delivery - Compliance with County of Durham Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) policies and North Carolina Statute 143-128.2 (c) - Experience with at least five similar projects in the past three years required - Criminal background checks for all workers on site - Approved alternate vendors allowed if meeting specifications - Compliance with all local and national electrical codes - Project covers seven DPS locations, including high schools and operations centers - Substantial completion required within approximately 350 calendar days from Notice to Proceed, with final completion 30 days later - Estimated contract value: $1,290,000 to $3,666,761

Description

Durham Public Schools is soliciting sealed bids from licensed contractors for the provision and installation of new electric vehicle charging stations and all required electrical infrastructure at multiple locations across the Durham Public School System. The project includes sites such as 1817 Hamlin Road Operations, 2011 Hamlin Road Site, Riverside High School, Jordan High School, Hillside High School, 810 Bacon Street, and Southern High School. Bids will be accepted from Electrical Contractors with Unlimited Licenses or General Contractors with Unlimited Licenses and must be single prime bids. The project requires compliance with County of Durham MBE policies and the North Carolina Statute 143-128.2 (c).
