This cooperative agreement empowers states and territories to manage flood risk, reduce exposure, disaster costs, and recovery demands by providing planning flexibility, tools, best practices, and FEMA expertise. The funding supports NFIP Coordinating Agencies to conduct activities in support of NFIP administration and build floodplain management capacity in line with 44 C.F.R. § 60.25. Eligible applicants are government entities, specifically state governments designated as NFIP Coordinating Agencies.
