Durham Public Schools is seeking bids for Phase I of a district-wide water fountain replacement and bottle filler installation project. - Government Buyer: - Durham Public Schools, Capital & Construction Planning Office - OEMs and Vendors: - Murdock Manufacturing is the specified Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for all new water fountains and retrofit bottle fillers - Products/Services Requested: - 30 new Murdock single water fountains with bottle fillers (A171408F-UG-BF series or similar) - To replace existing fountains at Hillandale (7), Little River (7), South West (4), and Lucas (12) schools - 34 Murdock retrofit bottle fillers (BF12R Bottle Filler Series or similar) - To be installed on existing fountains at City of Medicine (4), Easley (3), Eastway (6), Sandy Ridge (9), Spring Valley (5), and Creekside (7) schools - Demolition and disposal of old fountains, installation of owner-provided units, rough patching of walls (wall finishing excluded), and all permitting/fees - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Bidders must be licensed plumbers in North Carolina - Statement of qualifications required, showing experience with at least five similar projects in the past three years - Minority/Women Business Enterprise (MWBE) participation forms required - All Murdock units are owner-provided; contractor provides labor, demolition, installation, and patching - Wall finishing is specifically excluded and will be completed by others - Contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder

Description

Durham Public Schools is soliciting bids for the Phase I District Wide Water Fountain Replacement project. The work includes replacing 30 single water fountains with new Murdock single water fountains with bottle fillers at specified schools and installing new Murdock retrofit bottle fillers to 34 existing water fountains at other schools. The scope involves demolition and disposal of existing fountains, installation of owner-provided new fountains and fillers, rough patching of walls impacted by installation, and obtaining all necessary permits and fees. Wall finishing is excluded and will be completed by others. The project start is anticipated for the week of August 1, 2022, with completion by August 12, 2022. Bids are due by August 1, 2022, at 2:00 pm.
