The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) is seeking bids for a comprehensive exterior campus lighting improvements project. - Government Buyer: - University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), under the Board of Regents of the Nevada System of Higher Education - Office of Planning & Construction and Real Estate - Project Scope: - Installation and upgrade of exterior lighting fixtures across the UNLV campus - Includes pole-mounted, bollard, sports field, wall-mounted, ceiling-mounted, track, strip, exit, and emergency lighting - Associated electrical infrastructure: panelboards, circuit breakers, transformers, conduit, wiring, and controls - Construction services for all labor, materials, equipment, and tools required for project completion - Geotechnical evaluation services: subsurface soil characterization, field exploration, laboratory testing, and engineering recommendations for foundations and drainage - Products/Services Requested: - Approximately 15-foot tall metal light poles (supported on caisson footings with axial loads up to 50 kips) - Installation and commissioning of lighting and electrical systems - Special inspections and testing (soils, concrete, steel, electrical systems) - Unique/Notable Requirements: - No specific OEMs or part numbers mandated; 'brand name or equal' submissions permitted - Compliance with Nevada Apprenticeship Utilization Act and prevailing wage laws - Mandatory pre-bid site walk for all bidders - Strict adherence to geotechnical and special inspection protocols (including addressing caliche soils and shallow groundwater) - Performance and payment bonds, insurance, and safety program requirements - Liquidated damages for project delays and a one-year warranty from substantial completion - All bidders must be pre-qualified with the State Public Works Division for the appropriate cost category
