The Blue Bag Program is an encampment trash cleanup program originally piloted in San Luis Obispo County in 2019. It encourages those living in encampments to keep their areas clean by providing weekly trash pickup, addressing environmental concerns and supporting unhoused individuals. The program includes administration and connecting those in encampments with resources. The County seeks a community service provider to operate the program in the central area of the county for the 2026/2027 fiscal year.
