Sources Sought: Cadmium Plating Services for NUWC Keyport BST Buoy Program

The Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Keyport, part of the United States Navy, is seeking sources for Cadmium Plating services to support the BST Buoy program. - Government Buyer: - United States Navy - Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Keyport - OEMs and Vendors: - No specific OEMs or vendors are named in the notice - Products/Services Requested: - Cadmium Plating services for 10 buoy cases (reference part number 1845687) - Services include inspection, plating, finishing, packaging, and provision of necessary masking or fixtures - Government will inspect plated cases for critical requirements such as diameters, locations, surface finish, and adhesion - Unique or Notable Requirements: - Adherence to Operations Security (OPSEC) requirements as outlined in the online OPSEC guide - Access to technical drawings requires submission of DD Form 2345 - Packaging must meet industry standards - Delivery turnaround time is 20-30 business days after notice, including shipping - Contract structure includes a base period and four option years - Responses are for market research only; no proposals or contract awards at this stage

Description

The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Keyport is issuing this sources sought notice as a means of conducting market research to identify parties having the resources and interest in the Cadmium Plating services.

This request for capability information does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP); submission of any information in response to this announcement is purely voluntary and the Government assumes no financial responsibility for any costs incurred.

Please complete the attached "Questionnaire for Industry" word document, and return via email to naomi.n.newton2.civ@us.navy.mil no later than the response date and time identified on this notice.

CONTRACTORS ARE REQUIRED TO ADHERE TO OPERATIONS SECURITY (OPSEC) REQUIREMENTS.

The Government may not respond to any specific questions or comments submitted in response to this sources sought notice or information provided as a result of this sources sought notice.  Any information submitted by respondents as a result of this sources sought notice is strictly voluntary.  This sources sought notice is for information planning purposes, the Government will not pay or otherwise reimburse respondents for information submitted, and it is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government.

All documentation shall become the property of the Government.  The Government is not soliciting, nor will it accept proposals as a result of this sources sought notice.  All firms responding to this sources sought notice are advised that their response is not a request to be considered for a contract award.  If a solicitation is issued, it will be announced later via the Government-wide point of entry and all interested parties must respond to that solicitation announcement separately from the response to this sources sought notice.  Response to this notice is not a request to be added to a bidders list or to receive a copy of a solicitation.
