U.S. Army seeks laboratory equipment for unified system integration at APSL

The U.S. Army is conducting market research for the procurement of multiple laboratory equipment items to be integrated into a unified system at the Army Primary Standards Laboratory (APSL) at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. - The Army seeks brand name or equivalent products with guaranteed interoperability and structural compatibility across all optical and mechanical elements. - Required items and quantities: - 4 Single Mode Fiber Laser Sources (S4FC808 or equivalent) - 4 Power Cords (USA) - 4 SM1 FC Narrow Key Fiber Adapters (SM1FC2 or equivalent) - 2 4" Integrating Spheres for Light Measurement (4P3 or equivalent) - 2 2" Aperture Ports with SM2 inner thread (4P12 or equivalent) - 2 SM2 Series Ring Activated Iris Diaphragms (SM2D25D or equivalent) - 2 Graduated Ring-Activated Zero Aperture Iris Diaphragms (SM1D12CZ or equivalent) - 6 SM Variable Attenuators, 780 nm, 50 dB, InLine, FC/PC (VOA780-FC or equivalent) - Part numbers are provided, but OEMs are not explicitly named; products must be compatible for integration. - The government will perform the integration; vendors must supply equipment meeting the specified tolerances and interoperability requirements. - This is a market research/solicitation notice, not an award.

Description

The U.S. Army Contracting Command-Redstone, Operations, Services, & Training Division, plans to obtain information to serve as market research to help identify potential sources that can provide a brand name purchase of multiple laboratory equipment that government personnel will integrate into a customized, unified system. The equipment shall have an inherent structural compatibility, standardized tolerancing, and guaranteed interoperability across all optical elements, opt mechanics, and sensor mounts. These items shall be delivered to the Army Primary Standards Laboratory (APSL), Building 5435 Fowler Road, Redstone Arsenal, AL 35898.
