Description

The U.S. Department of Commerce has determined that countervailable subsidies are being provided to producers and exporters of silicon metal from Norway during the period of investigation from January 1, 2024, through December 31, 2024. The investigation covers all forms and sizes of silicon metal containing at least 85.00 percent but less than 99.99 percent silicon by weight, excluding semiconductor grade silicon. The determination includes a subsidy rate of 17.27 percent ad valorem for Elkem ASA and all other producers/exporters. The determination is effective as of June 30, 2026, and suspension of liquidation instructions have been issued accordingly.
