Description
The Coast Guard is establishing temporary safety zones of 100 yards around vessels involved in the loading, transit, or setup of the Salute to America Fireworks Show to protect personnel, vessels, and the marine environment from hazards associated with the fireworks display. A concurrent safety zone is also established on the Anacostia River between the Frederick Douglas Bridge and the 11th Street Bridge. Entry into these zones is prohibited unless authorized by the Captain of the Port, Sector Maryland National Capital Region, or their designated representative. The rule is effective from June 29, 2026, through 6 a.m. July 6, 2026, with enforcement notice starting June 24, 2026.
