Description
The Hydrocarbons and Geothermal Energy Office (HGEO) of the Department of Energy (DOE) has received an application from Rio Grande LNG Train 6, LLC requesting long-term, multi-contract authorization to export approximately 312.05 billion cubic feet of domestically produced liquefied natural gas (LNG) per year. The LNG export is proposed from the Rio Grande LNG Expansion Project located adjacent to the existing Rio Grande LNG Terminal in Cameron County, Texas. The project includes a sixth liquefaction train, a new marine jetty, and associated facilities, and will operate on an integrated basis with the existing terminal infrastructure. The authorization sought covers exports to non-Free Trade Agreement countries under the Natural Gas Act.
