Description

This notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM) proposes additional requirements for sponsor suitability assessments for unaccompanied alien children (UAC). It includes requirements for proof of identity, proof of income, and background checks to promote safe placement of UAC in ORR custody. The NPRM also proposes amendments to background check requirements and examinations of UAC for gang-related tattoos or markings to assess potential dangerousness.
