Sound Transit, the Central Puget Sound Regional Transit Authority, is seeking proposals for a comprehensive passenger alert system to serve its expanding transit network. - Government Buyer: - Sound Transit (Central Puget Sound Regional Transit Authority) - Office of the Sr. Contracts Specialist - Scope of Work: - Design, implement, and support an improved passenger alert system - Consolidate and integrate multiple existing alert messaging platforms - Enhance message delivery speed and enable targeted communications - Integrate with current platforms: soundtransit.org, Drupal CMS, Passenger Information Management System (PIMS), and GovDelivery (for SMS/email) - Support multiple communication channels: email, SMS, social media, PA systems, digital signs, phone calls, and APIs - Scalable to accommodate new stations, lines, modes, and vehicles as the system grows - Administrative access for 10-20 staff, scalable as needed - Handle increasing alert volume (currently ~5 per day, expected to grow) - Products/Services Requested: - Implementation of the new passenger alert system (within 6 months) - Annual maintenance for initial 5-year term and up to 10 additional option years - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Must expose APIs for integration with other systems - Emphasis on equal employment opportunity, diversity, and inclusion - No specific OEMs or vendors named; open to all qualified firms - No DBE or Small Business participation goals set - Contract Details: - Initial 5-year term, with up to 10 one-year extension options (potential total of 15 years) - Pricing includes fully burdened rates for implementation and maintenance, with escalation only during option years

Description

Sound Transit is requesting proposals from firms to provide an improved passenger alert system that consolidates and integrates alert messaging systems, improves message delivery time, and provides more targeted messaging to passenger audiences. The system must be designed to allow for the addition of many new stations, lines, modes, and vehicles as the system expands. The contract term is 5 years with possible extension for 10 additional one-year terms. The full scope of work is attached as Section Two of RFP # RP 0024-21.
