Description
Natural Resources Canada requires a secondary metallurgy station (SMS) to simulate steelmaking processes including re-melting, deoxidation, desulphurisation, vacuum degassing, and alloying. The contractor must deliver, install, and commission a vacuum/air furnace capable of conducting experiments for melting and refining operations under air, vacuum, and controlled atmosphere at CanmetMATERIALS' Hamilton laboratory. Additional water manifolds may be provided as optional purchases. The delivery and all work must be completed by March 31, 2028, with the contract period lasting until March 31, 2029.
