Kingston Fire & Rescue is seeking proposals for the purchase of a custom-built aerial ladder fire truck with advanced technical and safety features. - Government Buyer: - City of Kingston, Kingston Fire & Rescue (Deputy Fire Chief Kevin Donaldson) - OEMs and Key Component Manufacturers: - Cummins (engine) - Allison (transmission) - Meritor (axles) - Hendrickson (suspension) - Alcoa (rims) - Michelin (tires) - Spicer (driveline) - Groeneveld (automatic greasing system) - Hale (fire pump) - Akron Brass (master stream appliance) - FRC (pump governor, worklights) - Whelen (lighting) - Kussmaul (battery maintainer) - Leece-Neville (alternator) - Products/Services Requested: - One (1) custom-built aerial ladder fire truck - Minimum 100-foot aerial ladder - Cummins 500 hp engine, Allison EVS transmission, Hale 8000 LPM pump, 300-gallon water tank - LED lighting, advanced electrical and safety systems - Groeneveld automatic air greasing system, air compressor, hose and ladder equipment - Multiplex electrical system, 10,000 watt hydraulic generator - Onsite training for operators and mechanics (mechanic-specific and operator-specific) - Comprehensive warranty coverage (standard and extended options) - Detailed manuals, diagrams, and documentation - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Vehicle must comply with NFPA 1901, ULC, ISO, CAN/ULC, and all current Federal and Provincial standards - Preference for a single-source manufacturer; all major components must be custom-built for fire service use - Delivery, inspection, and acceptance at Kingston Fire & Rescue - Warranty and service support required for 10-12 years post-delivery - Evaluation based on specification compliance, warranty, delivery, service location, and price

Description

This Request for Proposals (RFP) is issued by the City of Kingston to procure one (1) Aerial truck as detailed in the RFP particulars. The proposal must meet all specified requirements including compliance with NFPA 1901, ULC standards, and other technical specifications. The contract will be negotiated with the selected proponent and will commence upon signing the Purchase Agreement, concluding after delivery and inspection of the equipment. Training, warranty, and detailed documentation are also required as part of the deliverables.
