The City of Dayton, Ohio Department of Water is seeking proposals for a comprehensive Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) system and related implementation services. - Government Buyer: - City of Dayton, Ohio Department of Water - Scope of Procurement: - Supply and installation of over 53,000 static water meters (sizes 5/8" to 10", solid state, battery operated, waterproof, lead-free, AWWA C715 compliant, many with remote disconnects) - Over 53,000 AMI endpoints for water meters - Data collection systems, repeaters, and network components - AMI head-end software (SaaS delivery, 20-year support), customer portal software, and integration with the City's Utility Billing System - Meter box covers, gaskets, expansion couplings, and other accessories - Portable devices for meter reading in radio dead spots - Implementation & Services: - Large-scale field installation (indoor and outdoor meters, endpoints, and accessories) - Project management, documentation, and in-person training for City staff - System integration, quality assurance, customer communication, and ongoing support - Warehousing and storage of project materials - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Meters and endpoints must meet stringent technical, security, and environmental standards (e.g., SOC Type II, ISO 27001/NIST 800-53 compliance for software hosting) - Installation contractor must be a licensed utility contractor in Ohio; all personnel require background checks - Vendors must specify proposed manufacturers, model numbers, and provide specification sheets - Warranty and performance guarantees are required - Software support required for 20 years post-deployment - OEMs and Vendors: - No specific OEMs are named in the solicitation; vendors must propose manufacturers and models - Quantities: - 53,000+ water meters and endpoints, tens of thousands of accessories, and extensive installation and support services
