Description
The Coast Guard is proposing to establish a temporary special local regulation (SLR) for certain navigable waters of Lake Erie near Kelleys Island, OH. This regulation is intended to protect personnel, vessels, and the marine environment from potential hazards created by a sailing race scheduled for August 29, 2026. The proposed rule would prohibit persons and vessels from entering the regulated area unless authorized by the Captain of the Port, Sector Detroit. The regulated area covers all navigable waters within 100 yards of the race participants and will be enforced from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the event day.
