Description

The Coast Guard is proposing to revise its existing regulation to add a new recurring Special Local Regulation (SLR) for certain navigable waters of the Cuyahoga River. This SLR is necessary to ensure safety during the Cleveland Dragon Boat Festival, held annually on or around the 4th weekend in August. The proposed rule would prohibit persons and vessels from entering the regulated area unless authorized by the Captain of the Port, Sector Eastern Great Lakes or a designated representative. Comments on this proposed rulemaking are invited and must be received by July 27, 2026.
