This opportunity is for a comprehensive design-build rehabilitation of the Southgate Recreation Area at DeSoto National Wildlife Refuge, led by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. - Government Buyer: - U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS), including Region 3 and Construction A/E Teams 1 and 2 - Project location: DeSoto National Wildlife Refuge, Missouri Valley, IA - Scope of Work: - Design-build services for rehabilitation and enhancement of roadways, parking lots, sidewalks, culverts, and site amenities - Includes design, permitting, construction, quality control, and project closeout - Maintenance of vegetated turf for two years post-construction - Compliance with federal, state, and local regulations - Products and Materials Requested: - Concrete (1,634 SF), bituminous roadway (577 tons), aggregate roadway/parking lot (1,651 tons), geotextile/geogrid (2,610 SYD), geotextile for asphalt/concrete (2,918 SYD), flow fill (62 CYD), saw cutting (2,000 LF) - Markings, signs, amenities, seeding, and restoration - Services Requested: - Mobilization, bond, project/construction management, engineering, surveying, testing, inspection, erosion control, demolition, site grading - Design deliverables at 60%, 90%, and 100% completion - Construction quality control and independent materials testing - Project closeout including training, manuals, as-builts, and warranties - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Small business set-aside - Firm-fixed-price contract - Construction magnitude between $500,000 and $1,000,000 - 180-day performance period with a one-year warranty and two-year turf maintenance - No specific OEMs or proprietary products required; open to standard construction materials and methods
