Description:
The scope of this contract is to perform annual preventative maintenance, calibration, testing, and then certify all associated components and equipment for an extended warranty on seven (7) HISS, and three (3) Hydrogen Electrolyzers. The work includes but is not limited to: visual inspection of all system components, leak testing, pressure testing, temperature checking, filter and cartridge replacements, re-stocking of spare lube cartridges on site, certification of safety procedures, performance of a final system check, plus annual troubleshooting and warranty service.
This contract will be awarded on a sole source basis, as only one vendor is capable of fulfilling the requirement successfully. The apparent awardee is FP2Fire, Inc. FP2Fire, Inc. designed, manufactured, furnished and installed the hydrogen control systems at the upper air stations located throughout the National Weather Service Eastern Region, and in Grand Junction, CO, and is the only source capable of maintaining, calibrating and repairing these systems to ensure proper operation. Soliciting from other sources would hinder the National Weather Service’s ability to issue timely forecasts, watches, warnings and advisories that are necessary for the protection of life and property.
