The City of Ames is seeking bids for the purchase and installation of office furniture for the Parks & Recreation Administration Offices, Parks & Recreation Maintenance Shop, and City Manager’s Offices. - Government Buyer: - City of Ames, Finance Department, Purchasing Office - OEMs and Vendors: - HON (primary manufacturer for most furniture items) - HSC (monitor arms, accessories) - ESI (power modules) - STORL (storage cabinets) - HUMAS (monitor arms) - Products/Services Requested: - Wide range of HON office furniture, including: - Desks, credenzas, bookcases, pedestals, work surfaces, modesty panels, and accessories - Task and guest chairs (HON Ignition, Etch series) - Monitor arms (HSC M/Flex, HUMAS M2.1) - Power modules (ESI Flex Charge 4, HON Desktop Power Module) - Storage cabinets and filing cabinets (STORL N9NE series) - Accessories such as fabric/acrylic modesty panels, shrouds, stiffeners, and drawer kits - Installation services for all procured furniture at multiple city locations - Delivery, unloading, debris removal, and on-site supervision during installation - Notable Requirements: - All major furniture components must be from a single manufacturer (HON), with no substitutions unless approved - Vendors must be authorized dealers and have at least five years of experience with HON systems furniture - Warranty coverage of at least one year (manufacturer’s longer warranties extended to the City) - Local business preference applies (1% bid preference) - Affirmative Action Compliance required for contracts over $25,000 - References and insurance/safety compliance required - Color samples for laminates may be requested - Quantities for each item are specified in the bid documents
