DoD and Navy Request Public Comment on Information Collection Surveys

This notice announces the Department of Defense (DoD), including the Department of the Navy, is seeking public comment on three proposed information collection surveys: - Military Experiences, Risk and Protective Factors, and Adolescent Health and Well-Being Survey - Targets 4,660 respondents (adolescents and parents) - Assesses the impact of military experiences on adolescent health, psychosocial adjustment, academic achievement, and career aspirations - Shipbuilding Industrial Base Demographics Survey - Targets 1,263 respondents from private companies and industry organizations - Analyzes workforce demographics, training requirements, and occupational experience in the shipbuilding sector - Military Housing Virtual Assistance suite (HOMES.mil, HEAT, DHFS) - Targets 12,469 respondents (individuals, households, and organizations) - Supports military housing relocation, rental listings, and feedback collection via web-based tools - No commercial OEMs or vendors are involved; all surveys are government-run - Data collected will inform congressional reports, workforce development strategies, and military housing program management - Unique requirements include compliance with statutory mandates and use of web-based data collection tools

Description

The Department of Defense (DoD), including the Navy Department, has submitted a proposal to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for clearance of a collection of information under the Paperwork Reduction Act. This notice is a 30-day information collection notice inviting comments on the proposed information collection. The collections include surveys and data gathering related to military experiences, shipbuilding industrial base demographics, and military housing assistance. Comments must be received by July 24, 2026.
